Update

Post by Martin 111S » Mon Dec 19, 2016 9:19 pm

Well quick update on my lotus - insurance co. engineer rang me tonight to inform that the car will be a total loss write off :(
He then proceeded to tell me what the book price was - I politely declined the offer after picking myself up from laughing - only about 8k less than similar are selling for !!

Seems there's going to be some fun now - I've told him they will need to sue the 3d party for the remainder, and the costs of respray and paint colour, he understands and will pass on the info.

Not happy to say the least - especially when he wished me a good Christmas !!!

Its through LV - last time ( hate this ) when I had that big repair, the assessor asked me what I thought it was worth, then promptly agreed with me as he said he had seen 3 or 4 cars similar selling for that price. That was with LV too. Things seem to havew changed since then - trying to rip me off.

I've told him the colour was important to me and was a 2.5- 3 k premium on a new car, and would want the same. So we will see what happens next. :(

Hi Martin,

Are you referring to the damage to the front of your bumper? The damage I saw when I made that trip to see the NORLOG lot? If so then how an earth can that be a write off?

Unless i've missed something and you've since been involved in something else?

He's had another little mishap since that one, take a look at the last south meet thread.
I feel a change coming

Oh my word. Glad you're ok but seriously sad to see this happen. I was hoping one day to make you an offer for it should you ever have wanted to sell.. Guess that's out the window now.

such a sad thing to see such a wonderful looking car damaged like that..

Cheers Mike - nothing I could do :( I remember you asking about it at the Shady, and I would have had you in mind if I came to sell.

Garage contacted me today to ask where to send my personal stuff that I hadn't already removed - well stuff from it I wanted, so its definitely going to be gone.

Sad times. :Censored:

Will it end up at a scrap yard then? I mean the engine will be fine so guessing it'll be bought by a scap company and sold off for parts.

Has there been any more movement with valuation?

No doubt it will be sold on - know someone who wants it, whether they will get it though  as the chassis, engine etc are all ok.

Not heard anything else on valuation yet - which is strange considering I'm running around in a Merc CLS atm courtesy of insurance co. It cant be cheap that's for sure :P

Yep that's true, and its all booked ready - well mostly, flights truck and some accommodation - what else do you need :)

Too right Jamie, this Merc is nice and comfy inside but its made me realise I definitely want another - really sloppy on corners, drinks like a fish too.
So I suppose the hunting will begin in earnest when the dosh comes through.

Seasons greetings to you all on Norlog too :Drunk:
