Depends how you look at it I think. A base spec Boxster is 45k and no one ever has a base spec Boxster so you can add 5-8k on that in reality so the top spec Elise at 47k is almost a bargain.

It is expensive compared to 'old' pricing but everything is, you will pay more than 20k for a Fiesta these days!!

I see where your coming from Dave :)

I think they've got the pricing right with elise 1.6 & the S but the sprint is £5000 extra and it has the same power just seems they're pushing the prices further away from folk who earn average salaries :(

I understand lotus want to compete with Porches but not sure the elise is the right car for that, the Exige S & Evora yes :)

Just my 2ps with Si

I was in CN's the other day talking to Tom, he was saying just this week they had sold 3 new exiges all over 70k! It's seems they've hit the new market and it's going well for them :jaw:

My first thoughts is that it was, but my last exige which I kept to a basic spec was £42k and that was 7 years ago. Considering it has a load of carbon it still only equates to a 2.5% annual increase. Still does seem wrong to have a £50k elise when my first s2 was about £25k!
