Insurance Problem

Post by *ian_pez* » Tue Sep 19, 2017 3:46 pm

Hi all,

As some of you know, I am currently in the process of selling up and moving to Cornwall.

I have moved out of my old address in Bury and am now residing at my mums in Alkrington. I advised Matthew at Henderson Taylor of the change of address and the fact that the car would be on the driveway.

A couple of days later, Matthew advised that the brokers would not insure my car on the driveway at my mums address. Fair enough, I'll just sort out my mums garage and put it inside. Still no joy!! The broker will not insure my Elise in the M24 postal area!

Tonight I'm taking it back to my old unoccupied address (as we have still not completed on the sale) and will be leaving it there as this is preferable to the insurance company!!?

Anyone any insurance recommendations for me or space in their garage please?

Ian

Try REIS have had my elise insured with them for years. No idea if they will cover the postcode. But they were able to give me a quote when henderson taylor could not. Althogh this was over 7yrs ago still use reis every year tho dont even bother to shop round now

Yeah try REIS, as they are on the list I always ring - Mary there knows her stuff. You could also try AIB as they come out competitive.
Another is Chris Knott, used these many times in the past as well as Adrian Flux - both give competitive prices.
TBH Matt could never get near my renewal price, so have never used them. He did however recommend some of the ones I've mentioned when chatting to him for quotes.

Thanks guys, I'll try reis this morning.

I tried an on line from Adrian Flux last night and they were quoting £720 for limited mileage cover!

Hi Ian,

Just spotted this, looks like you have sorted cover but have just commented on Xav's post for car storage. The guys at the oil can in Hepworth, Holmfirth store cars on short/long term contracts,

Sorry it's a bit late.
