Mr. Afro New to MLOC - 111R Sports Racer

Post by StokieAfro » Sun Jan 06, 2013 8:37 pm

Hi All,

Relatively new Elise owner here, currently registered on MLOC didn’t know about NORLOC until I just saw a posting a bout a Cat & Fiddle run. Wish I’d seen this earlier as it sounds infinitely more interesting than staining and varnishing doors. I think the sun even made an appearance :D !

I’ll have to make an appearance next month… see you there.

hi there and welcome along, trust me the sun never made an appearance but it was a good turn out all the same. it could of been snowing and still been more fun than staining doors. where abouts are you from?

Cool, I know it well, I have inlaws that way.

Don't see many Loti around the potteries I know of one other on MLOC.
We'll have to catch up maybe go in convey to Cat for the next visit.

I'm trying to wrap up all those jobs I never got around to last year to free up my weekends when/if the Sun comes out.

She's Blue with twin no over taking stripes.

I picked it up from Edinburgh last November.

Chuffed to bits...
I've removed the front splitter as it didn't quite do it for me and had sustained a little damage
Only complaint is illumination so I'm looking at HiD kits.

Looks good and welcome i fitted the eliseparts HID kit and so far no probs it's a bit more than other kits but worth it i think , has it had TRD airbox and Lotus sport remap for 2nd cam?

She's completely standard.

I'd classify her as well looked after and maintained, wanted for nothing but not cherished.
There's a couple of minor cosmetics I need to sort which I will do as soon as finances recover.

I tell a lie, Stage 2 exhaust apparently but I'm still as yet naive as to how that differs to the standard.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

Hi and welcome! Great looking car! You're not a million miles from me in Holmes Chapel either..

I had the Lotus Stage2 exhaust (briefly). It can be identified as having two large tailpipes sitting flush with the splitter, pointing downwards. It sounded nice when I was in the mood but was too loud too much of the time for me, so I changed it for a Stage1..

With regards to the headlamps, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of HID's for the small amount of night driving I do, so fitted some Osram Nightbreakers (about £12 for the pair) and although they aren't as bright as HID's, they're a huge improvement over the original bulbs.

This certainly looks like what you're describing...

I think its sounds awesome, there was a moment on the long drive down when I was thankful i had no fillings in my teeth but that soon passed.

Horses for course I guess but I am now intrigued to know how a stage 1 sounds.

To be fair I think a lot of the packing had blown out of mine so it sounded like a boy racers Corsa even just going through the village at 30mph on a light throttle. The stage1 is nice compromise...sporty sound when you open it up but still able to have a conversation and cruise on the motorway without earplugs.

I had an extremely noisy car before the Elise, so wanted a bit more usability without making my ears bleed again!
