Returning to the fold

Post by kennyh » Tue Jan 26, 2016 10:47 am

Morning Lads, just a quick intro. Lotus through and through having had many of the older variants over the years, including a couple of Richards "Banks" Europas.
For the last 15 years I've been Caterham with an occasional dabble with TVR.
I currently own a Caterham Jonathan Palmer which I will be selling in the near future due to lack of use and the desire to have a windscreen again ;)

I'm hoping to acquire a nice Elise SC type 25 or maybe a standard SC or Exige ASAP, hence my first post in the wanted section.

I was a club lotus member for years and always enjoyed Donington.
When I'm sorted with a car I hope to see some of you at some local shows this spring and summer.

Again, if anyone knows of a nice pampered car looking for a new home then please let me know.

All the best
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
Welcome to Norlog from Rob and Matt, haven't seen you in a many a month mate, hope all is well and the search for a Lotus to fill the garage is a short one.
How's the R-factor racing going, hopefully you are still involved and having a wail of a time.
Hope to see you in the near future

Hiya Rob and many thanks for that. I'm being a bit of an idiot here and apologies but I know a couple of Robert's in the Lotus fraternity, I don't quite put the cars in your pics to the face yet, again apologies for that.

Rfactor is still going strong lol, all Caterham guys who have competed at one level or another in real life.
Makes for an interesting evening and I should show up more than I do.

Is Matt Farmer Matt with the R300? :D

I'll be kicking myself later I know!!

Ha ha Kick yourself kenny, try the old Leyland mini club days and you'll remember ...hopefully
We didn't have either of the Lotus's when we last met up mate so no wonder you are struggling.
Matt with a R300 now that would be scary, he get's into enough bother with the up-rated M100 that he has first dibs on these days.
Still got the two classic mini's in the garage although still in project mode until the summer months when at least one of them needs to be finished
I see you are still fighting with the Jonathan Palmer Caterham, what a beast that is

Jeez Rob, you got me there, I'd never have put 2+2 together in a million years. Different cars, different forums, one hell of a spot!!

Loved the time I spent with the mini guys, such nice people, shame the website became obsolete.

Enjoyed the night you and Matt came to our place muchly, let's arrange another get together.

I hope Matt's still penning some good write ups too, clever lad.

Rob, gobsmacked to meet you here again. Speak soon I hope.

It was the Jonathan Palmer Caterham that gave you away Kenny, there aren't many of those around and I knew you loved it even if it is a bit of a handful.
Get yourself down to one of the meets and catch up with the guys, they're a good bunch although I have to admit the meets don't suit my diary as they coincide with Golf nights with some friends of mine so have only managed a couple. Will need to make more of an effort so we can have a catch up.
Good luck with the search for that special Lotus......................what am I saying all Lotus's are special, but sometimes not for the right reasons :-)

Hi Kenny and welcome to the group! Caterham JPE is quite a special thing.. I seem to remember reading about one when it was launched. Didn't it get a record for 0-100-0 or something similar? I imagine there's little else with 4 wheels which will offer such a rush!

Hi Nathan and thank you for the welcome. Yes the JPE took the 0-60 world record briefly, then took the Autocar record for 0-100-0 away from the Ferrari F40, never lasted long though as the Macca F1 then grabbed it.

Hope to catch you soon.
